Looks like the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G isn't the only T-Mobile Android handset that's getting a helping of jelly beans today. T-Mobile has announced that its version of the LG Optimus L9 will begin receiving an update to Android 4.1.2 starting today, April 22. The 350MB update will bring the Optimus L9 to software version P76920d and will roll out to devices over the air. Optimus L9 owners can check for the update by going into Settings > About device > Software update.
The LG Optimus L9 isn't exactly the most high-end Android offering in T-Mobile's lineup, but it's good to see that LG and T-Mo are still giving it a bump up to Android 4.1. There's no official changelog for the update quite yet, but the move from Android 4.0 to Android 4.1 brings with it quite a few new features, including Google Now and expandable notifications. If those sound like goodies that you'd like to have on your Optimus L9, you may want to keep an eye on your phone's notification shade in the coming days.
