After a formal introduction that took place way back in early January 2013, ASUS's new 7-inch MeMO Pad tablet is finally available for purchase in the U.S. The Android-powered MeMO Pad ME172V is now in stock at several online retailers, including Amazon and Newegg, with pricing set at $149. Color options include gray, pink or white.
For their hard-earned $149, buyers of the MeMO Pad 7 will be getting a 7-inch 1024x600 touchscreen, 1GHz VIA WM8950 processor, 1-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB built-in storage, 1GB RAM, a 4,270mAh battery and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The body of the MeMO Pad 7 has drawn comparisons to Google's Nexus 7 tablet, which is also made by ASUS, but the MeMO Pad 7 comes in with a lower-end spec sheet and a price tag that's $50 cheaper than Google's offering. Considering that, the MeMO Pad 7 may be an option worth considering for anyone that's in the market for a new Android tablet but is also on a tight budget.
