AT&T announced last week that it will begin accepting pre-orders for its version of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 on April 16 and that pricing for the handset would be set at $249.99 with a two-year contract. The only problem was that, at the time, AT&T didn't say how much storage that $249.99 model would include. Today the big blue carrier offered some clarification on the matter, saying that the $249.99 version will come with 32GB of built-in memory. AT&T also plans to offer the 16GB variant of the Galaxy S 4 for $199.99 on contract.
Because AT&T didn't reveal which version of the Galaxy S 4 would be priced at $249.99 last week, some believed that AT&T was simply pricing its base Galaxy S 4 at $249.99 rather than the $199.99 price point that new flagship smartphones typically hit. Now we know that that's not the case. With today's announcement, it looks like AT&T will be offering both the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and the HTC One for $199.99 on contract, though the $200 One will come with 32GB of built-in storage, while the $200 Galaxy S 4 packs in 16GB. Regardless of the other phones on AT&T's roster, I'm sure that consumers interested in AT&T's flavor of the Galaxy S 4 are glad to hear that they'll have a $199.99 option when the phone hits stores. Now we just need AT&T to tell us exactly when that'll happen.
