Grab your calendars and your piggy banks, AT&T customers, because your carrier just announced its HTC One availability information. The HTC One will be available from AT&T starting Friday, April 19, with online preorders kicking off at 1 p.m. CT on April 4. Pricing for AT&T's One will be set at $199.99 with a two-year contract. for the 32GB variant, while customers interested in the 64GB model will need to pony up $299.99. AT&T has also confirmed its exclusivity of the 64GB model, though it does say that it'll be "the only U.S. wireless carrier at launch" to offer that version, suggesting that the more capacious model could hit other operators later on.
The One is HTC's newest flagship smartphone, packing a 4.7-inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, an HTC UltraPixel camera on its rear and a 2.1-megapixel shooter on its face, NFC, 4G LTE and front-facing speakers with HTC BoomSound. HTC's One comes preloaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean running beneath the company's new Sense 5 overlay. AT&T will also be offering a free HTC Media Link HD with the purchase of each HTC One. The Media Link HD is a wireless HDMI adaptor that allows the One to wirelessly beam content to a television.
Both the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S 4 are set to be some of the biggest Android phones of the year, and it appears that the two devices will be hitting store shelves around the same time. AT&T has said that it will begin taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S 4 on April 16 for $249.99, but it hasn't yet announced an actual launch date for the handset yet, meaning that HTC's phone will likely hit AT&T sooner and for a slightly cheaper price. It'll definitely be interesting to watch these two flagships duke it out in stores, and the good news is that it looks like the fights will be kicking off soon. Better get that popcorn going.
