T-Mobile and its customers are now around 10 days away from finally having an iPhone to call their own. As T-Mobile has noted several times before, though, there are already quite a few unlocked iPhones that are being used on T-Mo's network. Today there's some good news for those customers, as an image shared by TmoNews has revealed that a carrier update will be going out to T-Mobile iPhones running iOS 6.1 or higher on April 5.
This small over the air update will bring with it Visual Voicemail, improved MMS settings and network/device optimizations, which should include support for T-Mobile's 4G LTE network. The full announcement from the leaked T-Mo document is as follows:
While the actual update will likely be rather small, the goodies that are contained within will make it a pretty big deal, especially for iPhone 5 owners that'll be gaining access to T-Mobile's LTE network (so long as they're in a market with T-Mo LTE coverage, that is). It's not clear exactly when on April 5 this carrier update will begin pushing out, but anyone that's rocking an unlocked iPhone 5 on T-Mobile's network will definitely want to keep an eye out for it on Friday. Are you or anyone you know currently using an unlocked iPhone on T-Mobile?
