And another Samsung Galaxy S 4 hits the FCC. Just a couple of days after the Sprint-flavored version of Samsung's new flagship smartphone made its way through the labs of the Federal Communications Commission, a new device that appears to be the Verizon variant of the Galaxy S 4 has appeared in the agency's database. The product in question features the model number SCH-I545, which is a step up from the Verizon Galaxy S III's model number of SCH-I535, and includes support for LTE band 13, Verizon's preferred type of 4G. There's also support for AWS LTE band 4, which Verizon will begin using for its LTE network this year, along with HSPA support for global roaming.
Samsung confirmed that Verizon will offer the Galaxy S 4 when it introduced the new handset earlier this month. However, Verizon has yet to reveal when it'll launch the device or how much it's planning to charge for it. That's also the case with Sprint, whose Galaxy S 4 went through the FCC earlier this week. Now that we're nearly into the second quarter of 2013 (when the GS 4 will begin rolling out globally) and we're starting to see U.S. carrier pre-order details trickle in, though, I wouldn't be surprised if announcements from Sprint and Verizon regarding their Galaxy S 4 availability hit our inboxes soon.
