The Galaxy S 4 may be Samsung's new flagship Android smartphone, but according to a new leak, that doesn't mean that the company is done with the Galaxy S III. A new image shared by @evleaks this evening shows a purple version of the Galaxy S III, complete with Sprint branding on its backside. The unit looks just like a typical GSIII outside of the purple color, complete with a physical home button, capacitive menu and back keys and slightly protruding rear camera.

As far as availability goes, the tweet includes "mid-April" along with the image, which suggests that we'll see it hit Sprint shelves sometime in the next month or so. That mid-April timeframe lines up with a Sprint leak posted by PhoneArena earlier this month that lists a purple Galaxy S III variant as launching on April 12.

While Samsung hasn't officially announced a purple version of the Galaxy S III, the Korean device maker has already released the device in white, blue, gray, red, brown and black variants (the last four of which were released on T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon, respectively), so it wouldn't be a shock to see Samsung give the GSIII another new paint job. A new purple version of the Galaxy S III could also help reinvigorate interest in the GSIII now that the Galaxy S 4 has been revealed.  Of course, this purple Galaxy S III isn't actually official until Samsung and Sprint make it so, but with a launch purportedly going down in mid-April, it may not be long before an announcement comes along.
