Samsung's Galaxy S IV announcement is now just a few days away, and unsurprisingly, the rumor mill is starting to heat up. The latest leak comes from Chinese forum 52Samsung, where one user has put up images of what he claims to be a dual-SIM version of the Galaxy S IV for carrier China Unicom. The device is identified as the GT-I9502, while the single-SIM would carry the model number GT-I9500. The design of the phone in these images is similar to that of the Galaxy S III, and we can see that it features a physical home button, rounded corners and a center-mounted rear camera.
When it comes to specs, the benchmark app running on this device lists it as having a 1080p display (rumored to measure in at around 5 inches), quad-core "Universal5410" processor that could be Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa chip, 2GB RAM and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean beneath Samsung's TouchWiz UI.
Adding to this leak is a report from SamMobile, which claims to have been told by a source that Samsung is planning to offer a dual-SIM version of the Galaxy S IV with the model number GT-I9205. Additionally, the device in these photos is listed as running the I9502ZNUAMB1 firmware, which is an earlier version of the I9502ZNUAMB5 firmware that Samsung is reportedly testing for its upcoming dual-SIM Galaxy S IV. The site was unable to confirm if the phone in these leaked images is indeed the Galaxy S IV.
While all of this information should certainly still be categorized as a rumor at this point, there are certainly aspects of the handset in these images that I wouldn't be surprised to see in the real Galaxy S IV. It's got a design similar to the Galaxy S III and includes the same rounded corners, plastic construction and physical home button that Samsung is known for. Considering that the Galaxy S IV is bound to be one of the biggest smartphone releases of the year, though, there are bound to be some fakes crop up. We also know that Samsung works hard to keep its flagship hardware under wraps before it's officially unveiled, so this could be one of several prototypes that the company has floating around to throw us all off.
