There's some good news today for 4G LTE-hungry U.S. Cellular customers, as the carrier has announced more details on its upcoming LTE rollout plans. U.S. Cellular today revealed that it plans to bring LTE connectivity to "select cities" in California, Kansas and Nebraska. Included in that batch of cities is Lincoln, Neb., Omaha, Neb., Manhattan, Kan., Eureka, Calif. and Ukiah, Calif. In addition to this new LTE service, U.S. Cellular says that it'll be expanding existing 4G coverage to include new cities in the following states:
In all, U.S. Cellular says that customers in over 3,800 additional cities will have 4G LTE access by the end of 2013. Unfortunately for those U.S. Cellular folk, there's no word on exactly when this new or expanded LTE coverage will be going live. The operator does promise that it'll cover 87 percent of its customers with 4G service by the end of 2013, though, which is quite a jump from the 61 percent of USCC customers that currently have access to the carrier's LTE network. That's exciting news for any U.S. Cellular subscribers that are still without LTE service, especially as the carrier is adding high-profile 4G products like the Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II and Electrify M to its lineup.
