The MetroPCS 4G LTE smartphone family is growing by one today, as Metro has officially taken the wraps off of the LG Spirit 4G. One of the biggest (ba-dum-psh) features of the Spirit 4G is its display, which comes in at 4.5 inches in size and features Corning's Gorilla Glass for increased toughness. Also included with the Spirit 4G is a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, LG's QuickMemo app that allows users to take a quick screenshot and then jot down whatever they'd like on it, 4G LTE connectivity and a 2,100mAh battery to power the whole show. The Spirit 4G comes preloaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich beneath LG's custom overlay.
When it comes to availability, the bundle of hardware known as the LG Spirit 4G will be hitting both MetroPCS stores and the carrier's website today, complete with a no-contract price of $199 after $70 mail-in rebate. Buyers will need to sign up for one of Metro's 4G LTE rate plans, which were recently simplified and now range in price from $40 to $60. While the Spirit 4G isn't Metro's first phone with a display larger than 4 inches, it is newer and cheaper than some of the other options in the MetroPCS stable, so it could be a good choice for a Metro customer that wants to get in on the big screen Android trend.
