Tomorrow is going to be a big day for Verizon, as the carrier just announced that it'll be adding a trio of new devices to its shelves on Thursday, Jan. 24. First up, the Samsung ATIV Odyssey will finally be making its way to Verizon with a price tag of $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and two-year contract. The ATIV Odyssey was originally slated to make its way to Verizon before the end of 2012, but obviously it ended up slipping into 2013.
Samsung's ATIV Odyssey is the third Windows Phone 8 device to make its way onto Verizon's shelves, following the Nokia Lumia 822 and HTC Windows Phone 8X that both launched in November 2012. The Odyssey is a mid-range handset, packing features like a 4-inch 800x480 display, 5-megapixel rear and 1.2-megapixel front cameras, 8GB storage, microSD slot and 4G LTE connectivity. That's not a bad spec list for a $50 smartphone, and anyone hunting for an affordable Windows Phone device on Verizon will now have a couple of options to choose from, with both the ATIV Odyssey or the Lumia 822 coming in with $50 price tags. Hooray choice!
Verizon will also be partaking in the Valentine's Day festivities by stocking two new versions of existing smartphones. As previously rumored, the Nokia Lumia 822 will be available in red and the Motorola DROID RAZR M will be offered in pink. Both versions are currently sold in black and white, and the Lumia 822 is also available in gray. Verizon hasn't said anything about pricing information for these two new colors, but the carrier's website is asking $49.99 for the Lumia 822 and $99.99 for the DROID RAZR M. To help prepare any of you that may be thinking about snagging one of these handsets tomorrow, below we've included shots of both the red Lumia 822 and pink RAZR M, as well as out hands-on video with the ATIV Odyssey from CES.
