Remember that mysterious Samsung product with the model number GT-N5100 that showed up in some benchmark results last month? Details on the device were light at the time, but it was speculated that with a screen resolution of 1280x800, the product could be some sort of new Galaxy Note tablet. Now a new report from SamMobile claims to have all of the details on the N5100. The site says that the GT-N5100 is indeed a Galaxy Note tablet that features an 8-inch display and the codename "Kona." The Galaxy Note family has grown quite a bit lately, going from just the Galaxy Note in late 2011/early 2012 to the Galaxy Note II (that just got two new colors), Wi-Fi-only Galaxy Note 10.1 and 4G LTE-enabled Note 10.1 in late 2012/early 2013. This new Galaxy Note tablet would slot directly in-between the Note II and Note 10.1 in Samsung's lineup, and it'd provide the company with an S Pen-equipped answer to the similarly-sized Nexus 7 from Google and Apple's iPad mini. The 8-inch Galaxy Note is reportedly due to be announced at Mobile World Congress at the end of February, but there's no word on when it might actually hit store shelves.
