Yesterday AT&T revealed that owners of its flavor of Samsung Galaxy Note II would be treated to an update to enable Multi-Window functionality starting on Dec. 27. Well, it's now Dec. 27, and the update has indeed begun rolling out to AT&T Note II users. An Android Central forum member has already gotten his mitts on the new software and shared the photo above, showing that his device is ready for all kinds of two-apps-on-one-screen fun. One of our own commenters has also received the update, which weighs in at around 178MB and leaves the Note II on Android 4.1.2.
For those that may be unaware, the Multi-Window feature gives users the ability to choose two apps from a select list and run them simultaneously, with both apps functioning like they would normally. While only certain apps can be used with Multi-Window (that's the case out of the box, anyway), it's still a popular feature that takes advantage of the Note II's 5.5-inch display. If you're rocking an AT&T Note II and haven't yet received your own taste of Multi-Window, remember that these updates typically go out in phases and that patience is a virtue. Checking for it manually by going into Settings > About phone > Software Update is also an option. So, have any of you Note II folk on AT&T already updated?
