Rumblings of an upcoming version of Microsoft's Office software for iOS and Android devices have come up a couple of times recently, with a release purportedly pegged for some time early next year. Today some more pieces of evidence that supports the claims of a iOS flavor of Office has surfaced, this time from Microsoft itself. As spotted by Mac4ever, a Romanian support page related to accessing a SharePoint library lists the solution as being applicable to "Office Mobile for iPhone," "Excel for iPad" and "PowerPoint for iPad." There's also a French support page for Excel calls out "Excel for iPad."
It's been rumored that Microsoft is cooking up iOS and Android versions of Word, PowerPoint and Excel, the latter two of which have been specifically named today. Unfortunately, these support pages don't contain any information pertaining to a possible release date for price. For anyone that's dying to get their hands on official Microsoft apps for their on-the-go document editing and viewing, though, this slip-up appears to be some of the most convincing evidence of Microsoft's Office plans yet. How many of you would be interested in having Office apps on your iOS or Android device?
