Still working on getting your holiday shopping for yourself or others done? If so, there are a couple of sales going on today that you may want to look into. Best Buy has revealed that it's slashing $50 off of the cost of both theiPhone 5 and iPhone 4S on all three U.S. carriers that offer Apple's smartphones. That means that the 16GB iPhone 5 for AT&T, Sprint or Verizon will set you back $149.99 with a two-year contract, while the 32GB and 64GB models cost $249.99 and $349.99, respectively. The iPhone 4S is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB sizes for $49.99, $149.99 and $199.99. Best Buy is also offering free shipping on its iPhones.
If an Android-powered tablet is more your thing, Amazon is offering a one-day sale on its 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD slate. Normally priced at $299 for the 16GB version and $369.99 for the 32GB model, interested customers can knock $50 off of the price of either unit by typing in "FIREHD89" in the promotional code section of the checkout process. The code also applies to the 4G LTE-enabled models, which are normally priced at $499.99 for the 32GB unit and $599.99 for the 64GB variant.
Both the iPhone 5 and 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD are fairly new devices, so today's discounts mean that anyone that's been patiently waiting for the right time to pick either one up can snag some relatively new hardware and save some cash in the process. Meanwhile, the sale on the iPhone 4S could be attractive to anyone looking to snag a new smartphone on the cheap, and it should definitely be considered by anyone that was thinking about buying an older iPhone 4, which is now only $50 less than the base iPhone 4S.
