Late last night, owners of the AT&T flavor of Samsung's Galaxy S III discovered that their Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update had been made available in the Kies computer software. Now AT&T has made the update officially official and has shared a bit of information on what Galaxy S III users can expect to find once the update dust has settled. As we said before, the update packs features like Google Now, but it also includes camera tweaks like a low light photo mode, a Pop Up Play update that allows for resizing of the picture-in-picture window and Blocking Mode, which works like a Do Not Disturb feature and lets users disable incoming calls and notifications. Samsung notes that the AT&T Galaxy S III's Android 4.1.1 update will not be released over the air, so customers that want their official Jelly Bean bump will need to install Samsung's Kies software. The update will bring AT&T's Galaxy S III to baseband version I747UCDLK3.
AT&T is the third U.S. operator to offer a Jelly Bean update for its flavor of the Galaxy S III, following Sprint and T-Mobile's updates that were issued in October and November, respectively. There's no word on exactly when we can expect to see other carriers like U.S. Cellular and Verizon push out updates of their own, but I'm sure that owners of those Galaxy S IIIs wouldn't mind getting a Jelly Bean treat for the holidays.
