Thanksgiving and the days following the holiday are viewed by many as a time for rest (as well as feasting and shopping, of course), but it looks like Apple and Samsung have been keeping themselves busy with legal dealings instead. Just days after Samsung requested that the iPad mini, fourth generation iPad and fifth generation iPod touch be added to its lawsuit against Apple in California, FOSS Patents notes that Apple has fired back by asking that six Samsung products be included as well. Apple is seeking to add the Samsung Galaxy S III with Jelly Bean, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Galaxy Rugby Pro and Galaxy S III mini to the battle.
Apple actually already added the Galaxy S III to this very same, but we've recently seen the device begin to receive its update to Android 4.1 in several parts of the world, and so apparently Apple decided that it'd like to update its case with the newly-Jelly Beaned S III. That also explains the Galaxy Tab 8.9's inclusion in this list, as the device was recently bumped from Android 4.0 Honeycomb to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The rest of the devices are likely just being added because they're newly-released Samsung products, which is the same reason that Samsung recently targeted Apple's new iPad models. This case between Apple and Samsung is scheduled to go to trial in March 2014, so expect to see more of this from both companies in the coming months.
