It was nearly a month ago that Sony announced that it'd be halting sales of the Xperia Tablet S due to a manufacturing issue that could leave the device vulnerable to water damage. The company appears to have figured out a solution, though, as it has announced on its Japanese site that the sales of the Xperia Tablet S will be starting back up "gradually" in mid-November. No specific U.S. sales information was mentioned.
Sony has advertised the Xperia Tablet S as having a "splash-proof enclosure," so obviously a flaw with the hardware that could leave it susceptible to water damage is something that Sony would want to look into. For any customers that already owns an Xperia Tablet S, Sony is still offering a free inspection and repair service, so existing owners may want to look that to avoid any damage that might be caused from any splishing or splashing. Do any of you own a Sony Xperia Tablet S?
