The LG Viper 4G LTE originally landed in late April as one of Sprint's first LTE-enabled smartphones, and it did so with Android 2.3 Gingerbread in tow. Fast-forward a little over five months, and the Viper has begun the process of being brought up to a more recent version of Google's mobile OS. Sprint announced today that the LG Viper's update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will begin rolling out today, November 1. The update brings with it ICS goodies like Face Unlock and an improved lock screen as well as a fix for displaying the number of users connected while using hotspot mode. Sprint's full changelog:

Most of the changelog provided by Sprint is made up of features that come with an update to Ice Cream Sandwich, but considering that Viper owners have spent the past several months on Gingerbread, I'm guessing that many don't care much about the one fix that's listed and are just happy to finally be moving up to a newer version of Android. Sprint says that updates may be pushed out in stages, so don't fret too much if you don't see ICS on your Viper by the time that today comes to an end. Any Viper owners that'd like to check for the update manually can do so by heading into Settings > About phone > System Updates.
