Along with the iPhone 5, Apple announced iTunes 11 at its event last month, saying that the new version would feature things like a cleaner interface and new library view. The update was expected to be released in October, but today Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr told CNET that iTunes 11 is now due before the end of November. The reason for the delay, according to Neumayr, is that iTunes 11 is taking longer than Apple had expected and that the company wants to take the time "to get it right." The full statement:

"The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right. We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November."

Along with a refreshed interface, iTunes 11 will include iCloud integration, which will load any content purchased on an iOS device into the user's library and will also save a user's place in movies and TV shows. The news that iTunes 11 is being pushed to November doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Apple originally said that the update was due in October and there's now only one full day left in the month. It's not yet clear exactly when in November we'll can expect to see iTunes 11 released, but I'll give you a shout once we get more.
