The iPhone 5 tops my list because, to me, it's the best 'overall' smartphone, for any consumer out there. New smartphone owners will find it easy to use, and veteran smartphone users will find it familiar, yet powerful. The DROID RAZR MAXX HD slides in at second place because after using one for a few hours, I think right now it is the best Android phone out there. If it was running stock Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, I would have been very tempted to rank this first. Motorola has done an outstanding job at toning down its OEM skin, however, it still isn't stock. Some may be surprised at my 3rd ranked phone, and the reasoning for that is simple, stock Android. Stock Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is quite beautiful, and powerful, so with the Galaxy Nexus currently being the only device running it, I placed it at 3rd. 4th is the HTC One X because I am in love with its build quality. It is a gorgeous device and feels great in hand, but HTC could take some advice from Motorola on toning down Sense. Lastly, the iPhone 4S comes in at 5th because it is a great fit for new smartphone users with its lower price following the iPhone 5's release, while still being robust in features.

This is one of the more challenging weeks when it comes to voting, as there are a ton of great devices available on the market (or coming to the market). Samsung's Galaxy Note II wins the coveted first place award due to a fantastic blend of specifications, fluidity, and software bonuses. The Galaxy S III (global and US variants) are second and third - perfect for those that want a majority of the Note II's features but don't want the added bulk. In fourth place, the HTC One X due to solid software and a good price, and in fifth place, the Motorola DROID RAZR HD. The iPhone 5 is not on the list this week - while it offers fantastic fluidity, the issues with the keyboard and display responsiveness make it hard to recommend at this time.

The GS III is bigger, brighter, and has far more tricks up its sleeve than any other phone and I expect it to remain at the top of my list for quite some time. I had the chance to play with the LG Intuition this week and I applaud LG's bold, (if risky), decision on a very square shape for an attempt at a Galaxy Note of their own. I would recommend this one to my Mom for sure! The HTCs remain on the list for their amazing camera features and rather decent screen displays. And as always, the RAZR MAXX rounds out my selection for having a battery that can actually last longer than your typical workday plus commute (now let's just work on that price!)
