When AT&T announced that it will be offering the Nokia Lumia 920 in November, it also revealed that it has an exclusive on the new Windows Phone 8 device. Unsurprisingly, AT&T made no mention of how long the Lumia 920 will be exclusive to it, but a new rumor today claims to have the details. According to a source speaking to WPCentral, AT&T's exclusivity on the Lumia 920 will last for six months, meaning that it'll be half a year before we see that specific handset on another carrier in the U.S.
We saw a similar situation with the Lumia 900 earlier this year, which AT&T also had a stateside exclusive on. It's worth noting that just because AT&T has an exclusive on the Lumia 920 doesn't mean we won't see a Lumia 920 variant hit another carrier like Verizon under another moniker, like the Lumia 810 for T-Mobile and Lumia 822 for Verizon are different versions of the Lumia 820. That's certainly no guarantee, and we've yet to see any solid evidence to suggest that such a handset actually exists, but non-AT&T customers that are interested in the 920 may want to hold off on making that cancellation call to their current carrier for now.
