Around a month ago, Sprint announced a list of 100 markets in which it had begun work on its 4G LTE network, with the service expected to launch in those various cities at some time "in the coming months." Now Sprint has announced another handful of towns where work on its LTE network has gotten underway. The markets announced today were not included in the previous list of 100 cities, and Hesse and Co. say that the LTE network buildout has started in both these new areas as well as those announced in September. The new list of 20 markets named by Sprint today is available at the bottom of this post.
Just as with the previous list of 100 cities, Sprint says that the 4G LTE coverage in these new 20 areas will launch "in the coming months." However, Sprint notes that customers in these towns that already have an LTE-capable device may see the service light up early, and that they're free to give the network a try if they do. While we may not know precisely when these markets will officially be lit up with Sprint LTE service, at least customers in the areas know that the network is coming and can plan their next hardware purchase accordingly. Any of you live in one of these cities that'll soon be gaining Sprint LTE coverage?
