Good news tonight for any AT&T customers that are eager to throw down their hard-earned cash on a shiny new Windows Phone 8 device, as a new report claims that you'll be able to do just that in less than two weeks. According to sources speaking to The Verge, AT&T is planning to begin accepting pre-orders for Windows Phone 8 hardware, such as Nokia's Lumia 920 and HTC's Windows Phone 8X, on October 21. A launch for the handsets is said to be coming in early November. Along with the Windows Phone 8 devices, pre-orders for the Samsung Ativ Smart PC and the ASUS Vivo Tab RT will also reportedly get underway on October 21, with a release to follow on October 26.
AT&T has already confirmed that it will be offering devices like the Lumia 920, Lumia 820 and Windows Phone 8X at some point in November, but the carrier hasn't been willing to talk pricing or exact launch dates. That hasn't stopped the rumor mill from churning, though, and a report from late last week claimed that the Lumia 920 could land on AT&T's shelves on November 4. While that's obviously not quite officially official, if this latest report about AT&T pre-orders pans out, we may not have much longer to wait before the big blue beans are finally spilled. You AT&T customers that've been eyeing a Windows Phone 8 device had better start counting your pennies just to be safe.
