Grab your calendars, Galaxy Note II fans, because it looks like Samsung is planning a Note II-related event here in the U.S. next month. The company has begun sending out "Save the Date" invitations for a gathering in New York City on October 24. The invitation doesn't come out and say exactly what the shindig is for, but the appearance of an S Pen and the recent unveiling of the Galaxy Note II suggests that we'll hear some more information on the U.S. launch of Samsung's new Note device.
Samsung confirmed earlier this month that the Galaxy Note II will be hitting AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon here in the U.S., and at the time the company said that a launch would be happening "by mid-November." There haven't been many other details announced since then, but U.S. Cellular has revealed that it plans to offer the 16GB Note II in late October for $299.99 with a two-year contract and $100 mail-in rebate. It's not clear if we'll hear any other U.S. launch details before Samsung's October 24 event, but even if we don't, at least this event is less than a month out.
