Yesterday ASUS said that the Transformer Pad Prime's update to Jelly Bean would begin rolling out on September 27, and it looks like the company has stuck to its word. Several Transformer Pad Prime owners are reporting that the update has made its way to their neck of the woods, bringing with it a bump to Android 4.1.1. As we noted last night, some of the changes that are packed into this Jelly Bean update include the removal of Flash support and the addition of a Multiple Photo Selection feature.
It's not all good news in ASUS Update Land today, though, as it appears that the Transformer Pad Infinity's Jelly Bean update has been pushed back slightly. In a post on XDA Developers, ASUS Technical Marketing Manager Gary Key has said that the Infinity update that was originally expected tomorrow is now expected early next week. Key says that some recently-updated apps (like Facebook) require that some tweaks be made to the device's firmware so that the keyboard works correctly in a comment area.
While it's kind of a bummer that Infinity owners may have to wait a few more days to get a taste of Jelly Bean, at least ASUS is taking the extra time to iron out some last-minute issues rather than just rolling out the update and fixing things later on. As for you Prime owners, you can head on into the About tablet section of your Settings menu to check for your Android 4.1 update if you haven't gotten it already. While the update process is going smoothly for some Prime users, others seem to be having some issues getting it installed. If you and your tablet fall into the latter group, you may want to wait a few hours and then try your luck with the update again.
