We're just a day away from an HTC event taking place in New York City, but that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from churning out one more leak ahead of the shindig. A photo leaked to Phone Arena claims to show the HTC Accord/8X in the wild, complete with the purple body that we saw on a render in late August. The source of the image claims that the Accord features Verizon branding and support for Big Red's 4G LTE network.
This tipster isn't the only one sharing photos ahead of HTC's event, as the company itself has taken to Twitter to build some hype for tomorrow's gathering. HTC just tweeted out the image you see below, which shows the corner of a device with what looks to be the Windows Phone clock in the corner and the tagline "When beautiful hardware meets stunning software." There's also the date of HTC's event ("19.9") at the bottom of the shot.
According to previous rumors, the HTC Accord may be known as the 8X when it launches. We've also heard that it may have a spec list that includes a 4.3-inch 720p display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel camera. 16GB storage, 1GB RAM and Beats Audio support. Windows Phone 8 is expected to be on-board, and in addition to possibly being Verizon-bound, a leaked T-Mobile roadmap has shown that Magenta may also offer the Accord. All of that information is still rumored at this point, but thankfully HTC's event kicks off in less than 24 hours, so it won't be long before all is finally official. Keep it locked to PhoneDog for more.
