For week 26, the Samsung Galaxy S III remains the #1 phone in both the People’s Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Expert’s Chart in PhoneDog Media’s Official Smartphone Rankings™. While still dominant, many new devices are just around the bend. How much longer can the Samsung Galaxy S III hold its title?
MT. PLEASANT, SC – PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) raises the bar for ranking the market's hottest devices by allowing both experts and readers to weigh their opinions. This week, the Samsung Galaxy S III remained the fan favorite, scoring more points in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart and more votes in the People's Choice Chart than any other phone. It appears as if the Samsung Galaxy S III is beginning to leave its counterparts in the dust.
For the People's Choice Chart, the HTC One X held its place in the #2 spot once again, holding off the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (global) by just 42 votes. The Nokia Lumia 900 very nearly stole third with only three votes shy of a tie with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (global). In the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, the Apple iPhone 4S is making waves just weeks before its successor is expected to arrive. With 37 points it knocked the HTC One X, with 30 points, to third, breaking its long second place streak.
“This week’s rankings highlight a continuing trend, but stand by for a wild fall season in mobile," said Aaron Baker, Editor-in-Chief of PhoneDog.
