Hot on the heels of Motorola outing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates for both the Wi-Fi-only XYBOARD 10.1 and XYBOARD 8.2, Verizon has posted the support documents for the DROID XYBOARD 10.1's own ICS bump. Like the Wi-Fi-only models, the DROID XYBOARD 10.1 is being updated to Android 4.0.4. Included with the update is the usual Motorola ICS goodies, such as a direct access lock screen, as well as improvements to the browsing experience and network connectivity. The DROID XYBOARD 10.1's full Android 4.0.4 update changelog can be found at the bottom of this post.
While the Wi-Fi-only XYBOARD 8.2 was a part of yesterday's update alongside the 10.1-inch model, there's no mention yet of an Ice Cream Sandwich update on Verizon's DROID XYBOARD 8.2 support page. For those of you with the DROID XYBOARD 10.1, though, you can keep an eye out for this update to software version 11.11.27.MZ617.Verizon.en.US. Verizon has said in a blog post that the 336.4MB update will begin rolling out in phases today, August 20, but DROID XYBOARD 10.1 owners can always check for it manually by heading into Settings > About tablet > System updates. Be sure to give us a shout when the XYBOARD 10.1-flavored Ice Cream Sandwich makes its way to your neck of the woods!
