HTC One X update rolling out, contains menu button bar option [UPDATED]

HTC One X AT&T

Own an HTC One X on AT&T? Then you may want to fire up ye olde software update, because it appears that the One X is now receiving a new update. While an official changelog for the update isn't yet available, it's said that it packs in Android 4.0.4 as well as a new settings option that I'm sure many users will be glad to have. As noted by Taylor back in May, the One X has been showing a large, black bar in apps that required a menu key but weren't built to have those functions show up in the action bar of Android 4.0 devices. This latest update allows users to disable the black bar and instead press and hold on the multitasking button to bring up the menu. It's also thought that this new One X update may contain a multitasking improvement that makes the device less aggressive when it comes to closing apps running in the background.

While that black bar may not sound like a big deal to some, it can be annoying to always have the bar taking up valuable screen real estate in apps that don't yet do things the action bar way. Kudos to HTC for putting together a way for users to rid themselves of the bar and take back their One X's 4.7-inch display.
