Good news for Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi owners not involved in that Android 4.1 soak test, as the update appears to be rolling out to all users. Several owners of the Wi-Fi-only XOOM have reported receiving an update to Android 4.1.1, which bumps them up to software version JRO03H. We've yet to hear anything official on the rollout from Google or Motorola, but a number of users not involved in Motorola's soak test are reporting that the update has hit their device.
When Google began rolling the Jelly Bean update out to the HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus, it confirmed that the XOOM was one of the products that were "up next" for Android 4.1, so it's not a total shock to see this slate being bumped up to Google's latest treat. Still, it is good to see the XOOM being updated around a month after Jelly Bean was initially announced. Now we wait to see how long it takes for the carrier-branded versions of devices like the Galaxy Nexus and XOOM to receive Android 4.1 updates. Until then, those of you with a Wi-Fi-only XOOM should check for an update if you haven't already. Don't forget to stop by the comments section and tell us when you get your taste of Jelly Bean!
