Remember the HTC Era 42? This mysterious device was spied on a leaked T-Mobile roadmap earlier in July, but at the time there weren't any details on exactly what the Era 42 might be. That's still pretty much the case, but today TmoNews has shared a rumor about the Era 42 that's likely to make some Magenta fans reach for their wallet. The site claims that the Era 42 is actually the HTC One X+ for T-Mobile. Details about the device are still light, but Taylor of Android and Me claims that the "+" in the One X+'s name refers to the device's Tegra 3 processor, which will allegedly be clocked at 1.7GHz. It's also worth noting that the aforementioned leaked roadmap points to a September 26 launch for the Era 42/One X+.
While our amigos at TmoNews say that they've been able to confirm this leaked information "with a small level of certainty," it's worth noting that this is all still very much a rumor at this point. If this One X+ does indeed hit T-Mobile, though, it could make for a nice high-end option for Magenta folk looking for an alternative to the Galaxy S III (assuming that this One X+ features specs similar to AT&T's One X, that is). We're still around two months out from the Era 42/One X+'s alleged release date, but that means you T-Mobile folk have plenty of time to save your pennies for this thing. Stay tuned for more details as we get 'em.
