This week appears to be off to a good start for Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi owners. According to a forum post from Motorola Forums Manager Matt, Motorola will soon be rolling out (or has already started rolling out) an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to testers. In the post, Matt notes that testers are evaluating final software and that, unless a major issue is discovered, Motorola will likely be pushing this update to the public. There's no mention of exactly when a public release may happen, but Matt notes that these soak tests normally only last for "a few days."

A little over a week ago we noted that some XOOM Wi-Fi owners had begun receiving invitations to test new software for Motorola's Feedback Network, and at the time it was speculated that the update could be Android 4.1. It looks like that speculation was correct. Of course, it's not exactly a surprise to hear that Moto is already testing the XOOM Wi-Fi's Jelly Bean update, but it is exciting for the slate's owners to know that Google's latest treat is getting close. Now we just have to wait for the testers to put the update through its paces so that us regular folk can get a crack at it. UPDATE: The folks over at Android Central have gotten hold of the full changelog for the XOOM Wi-Fi's Jelly Bean update. The new software will bump the XOOM to Android 4.1.1 JRO03H and will include goodies like "Improved User Interface and Response" as well as "Expandable, Actionable Widgets." Still no word on when the update will actually be rolling out to all users, but we'll keep you up to date.
