Moving up the chart to claim a top 5 spot again, the Nokia Lumia 900 finished #5 last week in the Official Smartphone Rankings. So on this Friday July 20, 2012 we feature a user review for the Lumia 900 that comes to us from GUSTAV CHRISTENSSON who believes the device is "the only Windows Phone that can compete with an iPhone".
"The Only Windows Phone That Can Compete With An iPhone." By GUSTAV CHRISTENSSON on July 16, 2012
The Nokia Lumia 900 is the best Windows Phone by far, featuring a great big screen, a simple operating system, a good camera and a good sound quality. (That part could be better).
But the phone does has one major limitation:
If you live in the North America, the phone will support 4G LTE, and you can get it on a 2-year Contract with AT&T for 99$. In Europe, the device goes up to HSPA, and I had to pay $610.27 to get it. Fortunately, I saved a little, because the full price for the non-contract phone seemed $732.57.
Overall, if you live in the U.S., you could choose this phone to replace an iPhone, which would truly work. In that case, this phone would be totally fantastic!
But if you live somewhere else, like in Europe, Asia or Africa; consider your options: If you're paying unlocked, you can get all the full functionality (including 500,000 more available apps) on the leading iPhone by paying a little more for it.
So, summing up, this phone is mostly made for American markets, but it will still preserve most of it's functionality in Europe. There's nothing wrong with the phone, except for the occasional GPS failure in some areas, but the design, the big screen, the cheaper price and the OS made me choose this instead of an iPhone.
