When Samsung first announced the Galaxy S III in May, it revealed that the handset would be initially available with 16GB or 32GB of storage, with a 64GB variant to follow. However, lately there's been some speculation that the 64GB Galaxy S III may have been canned, which stemmed from some retailers canceling their orders of the device. Today Samsung denied those rumors, telling Android Central that the 64GB Galaxy S III is still coming later in 2012. Samsung's full statement:

"The 64GB model of the GALAXY S III will be available during the second half of this year. The market availability and timing may vary and will be determined at the time of release."

That's good news for folks looking for as much storage as they can possibly get in a handset. There's no word yet on when or if the 64GB Galaxy S III will hit to any U.S. carriers, but if it doesn't ever make its way stateside, there's a certainly a chance that interested customers will be able to import that model.
