Still without your Nexus 7, even though Google began shipping pre-orders last week? If so, you'll want to check out the update that Google just posted on its Play support page. The company explains that it's shipped all standalone Nexus 7 8GB orders that were placed through July 13, and by the end of the day on July 19, it expects to have mailed out (with overnight shipping) all standalone Nexus 7 16GB orders placed through July 11. All remaining standalone Nexus 7 16GB orders placed through July 13 will be processed (again, with overnight shipping) by the end of next week.
As for folks that opted to pick up a case, charger or Nexus Q with their new Nexus 7, Google says that it'll be mailing out the tablets with overnight shipping this week, and in some cases the Nexus 7s will go out before the other items in the order. However, El Goog promises that the remainder of those orders will be sent out "soon."
Google says that it's had "incredible demand" for the Nexus 7, and it's good to see it provide a detailed shipping update for those buyers that have yet to receive their Android 4.1-powered slate. If you're interested in a Nexus 7 but have yet to place an order, the 8GB model is currently listed as "In Stock" on the Google Play store, with new orders expected to be delivered in 3-5 business days. Folks interested in the more capacious 16GB Nexus 7 will have to wait a tad longer, as orders of that version won't be shipping out for another 3-4 weeks.
