Good news for Samsung Galaxy S II owners on T-Mobile that have become jealous of HTC Amaze 4G users and their recent Android 4.0 update: T-Mobile has revealed that the Galaxy S II's own Ice Cream Sandwich update isn't far off. The carrier just announced on its official Twitter account that the Samsung Galaxy S II's update to Android 4.0 will be made available via Samsung's Kies software starting June 11. T-Mobile promises to share more details about the update "soon."
Samsung's Galaxy S II on T-Mobile began receiving some new software late last month, but unfortunately for owners that are hungry for an Ice Cream Sandwich, the update was of the maintenance variety and contained no desserts. Thankfully the real ICS deal is less than two weeks out, and while it's not yet clear when or if an over the air option will be available, I'm guessing most T-Mobile Galaxy S II owners will be more than happy to go the Kies route if it gets them to Android 4.0. We'll pass along more information as we get it, but until then, you T-Mo GSII owners should be aware that the comments section also serves as a "Hey, my phone is getting a major update!" celebration zone.
