Remember earlier this year when Verizon said that the LG Spectrum and Motorola DROID 4 included global roaming support and that the feature would be enabled later this year? We haven't heard anything on the matter since, but a new Verizon information card suggests that the feature will be coming to at least one handset soon. As you can see above, an info card for the HTC Rezound reveals that a "global feature" that'll allow the phone to be used in an additional 185 countries is "coming soon." Droid-Life claims that Verizon stores are also being told to create new info cards for the DROID RAZR and DROID 4 that have a similar entry.
While global roaming may not be a feature that everyone will use, it can be a big selling point to folks that want a device that can be used overseas but that don't want to get a GSM device just for that purpose. This new Rezound info card doesn't offer anything resembling a date that these new features will be made available to eligible devices, but a Verizon spokesperson previously said that the capability could be pushed out in the first half of this year, so we may not have much longer to wait. Stay tuned.
