Shortly after the Samsung Galaxy S III finally made its debut, a rumor surfaced claiming that Sprint may be launching its own model of Sammy's new flagship here in the U.S. Now a new report has expanded upon that rumor, as the folks from Pocketnow say that they've gotten hold of test images taken with variants of the Galaxy S III from all four major U.S. carriers. While the photos themselves don't really show anything special, there are purported device model numbers to go along with the shots: AT&T's Galaxy S III is said to be the SGH-I747, Verizon's is the SCH-I535, T-Mobile's is the SGH-T999 (test photo below) and Sprint's is the SPH-L710.
Keeping up with the U.S Galaxy S III rumors, the aforementioned Verizon SCH-I535 has apparently popped up in the listings of the NenaMark benchmarking app. The device is identified only as the "SCH-I535," but the listing does mention a few specs that may be present in the I535. The page alleges that the product is Verizon-bound and features a screen resolution of 1280x720, Android 4.0.4, a 1.5GHz processor and an Adreno 225 GPU, which is used with Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 system on a chip.
So there's your latest batch of U.S. Galaxy S III rumors. While nothing is officially official until these carriers make it so, the suggestion that all four major U.S. operators could be prepping a Galaxy S III variant seems plausible. Three of them (AT&T, Sprint and T-Mo) have offered their own versions of both the original Galaxy S and the Galaxy S II, and while Verizon passed on the Galaxy S II, it'd be a surprise to see one of the carriers pass on the Galaxy S III given the amount of hype surrounding the new handset. The good news is that Samsung has said that the Galaxy S III is coming to the U.S. this summer, so we may not have much longer to wait before these rumored handsets make their debut.
