Looks like some big changes are in store for T-Mobile and the way that it bills customers. According to some images sent to our pals at TmoNews, T-Mobile will be introducing Bill Current on May 20th, a policy that'll see new postpaid customers being charged in advance for their monthly recurring charges. Currently customers pay for their service after they've actually used it, but it appears that T-Mobile has decided that a change was necessary. Bill Current will apparently only affect new customers, who can expect their first bill to include the prorated charges accrued from their activation date through the end of the first bill cycle, the monthly recurring charges for the next cycle and the activation fee. Existing customers will continue to be billed after using service.
As TmoNews mentions, the change to billing customers in advance for their monthly recurring charges isn't a huge deal since it's the way that most carriers have been doing things for a while, and you're not paying any more than you would if you were billed after using service. It's still a change worth noting, though, and if you've been thinking about jumping to T-Mobile but really don't want anything to do with Bill Current, you've still got some time before the change will take effect.
