The Sony Xperia ion was first announced by AT&T back at CES, and at the time it was said that the handset would be arriving sometime in the second quarter of 2012. We spend some quality hands-on time with the Xperia ion the next day, but since then we haven't heard much of anything about it. That's changing now, though, as a Google ad spotted by Droid Matters claims that the Xperia ion will be hitting AT&T in June. The second quarter wraps up at the end of June, so that would fit in the original Q2 2012 window given by AT&T.
For those that may need a refresher on the Xperia ion since we've gone so long without hearing about it, the 4G LTE device features a 4.55-inch 1280x720 touchscreen, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 12.1-megapixel shooter, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The Xperia ion looks like it could be a nice addition to AT&T's Android lineup, but we're still without a couple of crucial details about it: pricing and when an upgrade to Android 4.0 will be released. If that rumored June launch holds true, though, it may not be long before we hear more on the Xperia ion. You can find our hands-on with Xperia ion below to keep you occupied until then.
