I've lost count of how many times I've seen the question "Where is the Spotify for iPad app?" pop up, but today that question can finally be answered. Streaming music service Spotify today announced that Spotify for iPad is now available in the App Store, offering features like Retina graphics for the new iPad, high resolution cover art on the Now Playing screen and AirPlay integration. The Spotify app is a universal app available to the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad. Spotify users will need a premium subscription to use the app, but the company does offer a 30-day free trial of its premium service right here.
Spotify's iPad app is reminiscent of the official Twitter for iPad app in the way that it allows navigation through different layered panels. It looks like a nice app for those folks that are signed up for a premium Spotify subscription, though I suspect at this point many of those users may have been happy with a big green Play button that played a random song on Spotify so long as it was an actual iPad app. You can find a video introduction to Spotify for iPad down below, and the app itself can be downloaded from the App Store here.

For up-and-coming UK singer-songwriter/producer Labrinth, the new Spotify for iPad app is perfect for touring: “My iPad’s always with me on the road so being able to access whatever music I’m feeling right at that moment - either classic or fresh tracks - and then share those with my fans is a big deal,” he said. “As an artist I love the way my music is presented so slickly. Artwork is really important to me, and in Spotify’s iPad app it’s like it’s popping off the screen.”
Spotify Premium subscribers can head over to the App Store to get their hands on the new Spotify iPad app. Non-subscribers can sign up to our 30-day Spotify Premium free trial to check out the app today! www.spotify.com/freetrial
