Less than two weeks after it was revealed that Apple and Samsung had agreed to participate in settlement talks, we now know the dates that the CEOs of both companies will meet in a San Francisco courthouse. The talks are scheduled to take place on May 21st and May 22nd, a Monday and Tuesday, and will begin at 9:30 a.m. each day. Both Apple CEO Tim Cook and Samsung CEO Choi Gee-sung will be present along with their chief lawyers, and both companies will provide settlement statements to Magistrate Judge Spero that'll include an evaluation on how likely each party feels they are to succeed on their claims.
Apple and Samsung have been duking it out in courts across the globe since the first suit was filed by Apple in April of last year, with over 50 cases filed since involving several products and different countries like Germany, Australia and the U.S. While there's no guarantee that these meetings will actually lead to any kind of settlement, it's somewhat refreshing to hear that Tim Cook and Choi Gee-sung will soon be getting together in a room (with their lawyers, of course) to talk things out rather than getting news of another handful of lawsuits being filed. More on the Apple-Samsung saga as we get it!
