The leaks and rumors surrounding Samsung's next Galaxy device continue today, with the latest tidbit of news coming courtesy of the company's own Kies PC software. As you can see above, a device named the "Galaxy S3" with the model number "GT-i9300" has been spotted in the Kies software, which is helps users sync media to devices. The listing can be found by navigating into "Samsung Apps" and then selecting "France" as your region. Unfortunately, the thumbnail above the name is just the Galaxy Note, so there's no shot of the actual hardware. It's also worth noting that there's another Galaxy S3 with the model number "GT-i9300T" as well, but there's no mention of the differences between that version and the regular i9300.
In other next Galaxy news, a listing for a "Samsung Galaxy S III" has been spotted inside the AnTuTu benchmark app. The device bested all other products on the benchmark and is listed as having specs that include a 4.7-inch 1280x720 display, 1.4GHz Exynos 4212 processor, 1GB RAM, 12-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras and Android 4.0. However, it's worth mentioning that benchmarks can be faked, so it'd probably be wise to treat these specs as rumor for now.
So far there's been some mystery as to what Samsung could call its successor to the Galaxy S II. The obvious possibility is "Galaxy S III," but there have been some reports claiming that that's not the moniker for the device. "Galaxy S3" could be a good candidate as it still identifies the device as the third Galaxy S model but swaps the roman numerals for an easier to read single digit. The good news is that we're just a little over a week out from Samsung's May 3rd shindig, where all should finally be revealed.
