Excited about the rumored tablet being put together by Google and ASUS? If a new report is true, you may still have a few months to wait before getting your mitts on one. Sources speaking to The Verge claim that although the project was originally set to be ready for May, Google has now pushed it back, with the slate now expected to be coming in July. The decision was allegedly made in order to help drive the price down from the current $249 tag. On the spec side of things, the mystery tablet is said to feature a 7-inch display, quad-core Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Obviously there's still quite a bit we don't know about this rumored Google tablet, but considering its size and the claim that the company is trying to drive the slate's price down from $249, it certainly sounds like El Goog has its sights set on Amazon's Kindle Fire. Whenever this Google tablet does hit, it'll be interesting to see how consumers react and if the combination of the Google name and its price point can convince people to pick it up over other Android tablets, including the Fire. What do you all make of the Google tablet so far? Does it sound like something you'd consider whipping out your credit card for?
