Apple may have reached out to Motorola and Samsung with offers of patent licensing deals, but that hasn't stopped the lawsuits from flying just yet. Samsung today confirmed that it's filed a new lawsuit against Apple in South Korea, alleging that the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 infringe upon three of its patents. The patents in question are of the utility persuasion and cover ways to display data, a user interface and text messages. The suit was filed on Tuesday.
This new lawsuit is the latest in a long (and I mean long) line of litigation between Apple and Samsung that includes 30 cases stretched across 10 countries. The first suit was filed by Apple against Samsung in April of last year, and since then the two companies have been trading blows in court rooms around the globe. We've yet to get a response from Apple on this latest case, but we'll be sure to update you if we hear anything.
