Today's the day, Symbian users. Nokia has announced that the Nokia Belle update is now available for download to several of its Symbian-powered handsets. The batch of smartphones that can update to Belle today includes the Nokia N8, E7, E6, X7, C6-01, C7, and Oro , and Nokia promises that the Nokia 500 will be able to update to Belle in the next few weeks. In order to install the Belle update, users will need to install the latest version of Nokia Suite onto their computers, connect their handsets to the PC and then update the phone's software through Nokia Suite.
Once the update is installed and the dust clears, you'll find that Belle brings with it a refreshed UI, support for up to six home screens (up from three), a new notification bar and larger live widgets. Sounds like a pretty worthwhile update to me, and if you happen to own one of the aforementioned Nokia handsets, you'll likely want to fire up Nokia Suite and get to installing right now. If you'd like a preview of just what Belle is all about before downloading, though, you can find a brief introductory video down below. Check it out.
