Ready for a nice Tuesday morning surprise, Samsung Captivate owners? Today AT&T announced that the Captivate's update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread is now available for download. The update is build number I897UCKK4 and, besides the bump up to Gingerbread, contains goodies like a fix for the Gmail Top-menu and a vertical play mode for YouTube. If you've got a Captivate and a hunger for some Gingerbread, you can fire up Samsung's Kies Mini software to get the update ball rolling. Although I'm sure many Captivate owners that grew tired of waiting for the official Android 2.3 update have been enjoying leaked builds for some time now, it's nice to see that the official Gingerbread update has finally been made available for folks that don't want to or can't load the update leaks.
