It was just around a month ago that iOS 5.1 beta 2 burst onto the scene with the ability to manually delete single images from a user's Photo Stream, a feature that many folks had been clamoring for since the feature's debut. Now Apple has pushed out iOS 5.1 beta 3 to developers, and it's been revealed that this new build also contains a feature that the iOS crowd has been wanting. This time, though, it's something that they at one time had but then lost: the "Enable 3G" setting. Featuring the build number 9B5141a, iOS 5.1 beta 3 is now available to download for registered developers, and folks that've already installed the beta have noted that it brings back the ability to toggle off 3G data in order to conserve battery life.
As with previous iOS 5.1 betas, this latest version is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad, iPad 2 and third and fourth-generation iPod touch, and the download links are live on Apple's official developer site. It's still not clear exactly when us non-devs will finally get our hands on the final build of iOS 5.1, but at least we can see that progress on the update is still rolling on. And hey, at least now we've got the return of the 3G toggle to look forward to. Here's to hoping that it addresses the battery life issues that some folks reported seeing post-iOS 5.0.1 as well.
