ASUS may have just pushed out the Eee Pad Transformer Prime last month, but that hasn't stopped the company from one-upping itself by introducing an upgraded version of the TPrime today during CES 2012. Featuring the model number TF700T, the most notable upgrade of this new Transformer Prime is its SuperIPS+ display, which has had its resolution bumped up to 1920x1200, up from the 1280x800 resolution of the original Transformer Prime. The TF700T also features a new rear cover that should allow for better GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth performance. One other upgrade included in the TF700T is the front-facing camera, which has been pushed up to 2 megapixels. Most other features of the TF700T remain the same as the original Prime, including the same Tegra 3 core and compatibility with the same keyboard dock. The TF700T Transformer Prime should be available in Q2 2012 with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in tow. Pricing will be set at $599 for the 32GB model or $699 for the more capacious 64GB variant.
The new TF700T Transformer Prime isn't the only Android tablet that ASUS talked up today, as the company also shed light on the availability details of the 7-inch Eee Pad MeMO ME370T. Landing sometime in Q2 2012, the MeMO ME370T packs in a 7-inch 1280x800 display, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm CPU, 5-megapixel/1.2-megapixel rear and front cameras, 1GB RAM, 16/32GB storage, 4,400mAh battery, and Android 4.0. As you might've been able to guess from the image of the MeMO below, the slate also features a stylus that can be used with its touchscreen.
It's good to see ASUS answer Acer's 1080p Android tablet with one of its own, and the new TF700T Transformer Prime looks like a pretty lustworthy slate. Of course, folks that've already picked up the original Transformer Prime probably aren't thrilled with the news that a new model is coming out that not only packs in a higher definition display but also a new backside that improves the performance of the GPS, something which has been a bit of an issue with the first TPrime. At least there's always eBay and Craigslist to help flip the first Transformer Prime if you're drooling over the new model.
